Our Patrons

A Maze of Story is honoured to welcome two distinguished patrons:

Brigid Lowry

Brigid Lowry began her writing career by self-publishing two dreadful poems when she was eight. She spent her twenties living in a Buddhist community, veered into performance poetry in her thirties, and subsequently gained a Masters Degree in Creative Writing  and wrote eight award-winning Young Adult books. She is a Zen student, a socialist, a creative writing teacher, an introvert who talks too fast, a drifter and dreamer who loves the world of words. Brigid likes movies, travel, walking and hanging around in libraries. She believes in nectarines, coloured pencils, op shops, and in encouraging others to live with authenticity and joy.

Sean Avery

Sean E Avery is a teacher, writer-illustrator, sculptor and designer born in South Africa; living in Perth. Locally, he’s best known as the writer-illustrator of well-loved children’s picture books, “All Monkeys Love Bananas”, and “Harold and Grace” – published by Fremantle Press. Internationally, he’s best known as a sculptor who uses CD’s and DVD’s to create breath-taking works of art that reside in galleries and private collections all around the world. He is curious, enthusiastic and ready to work hard for the things he believes in. Check out his website.
